THE AIM is to gain a winning hand of five cards (see below). Cards rank from Ace at the highest, King, Queen, Jack, then 10 down to 2. Aces can also count as 1. THE PAY-OUT: Depends on the winning hand (see below). THE GAME: Players place their first bets and are dealt five cards. They can also bet on winning all or part of the progressive jackpot with a Flush or better (see below). The dealer takes five cards, one face up. Players can place a bet to ‘call’ the dealer or decide to fold. The winning hands in order are 1. A Royal Flush: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, of the same suit - pays 100-1. 2. A Straight Flush: five of the same suit in sequence, eg 5 to Ace - pays 50-1. 3. Four of a Kind: eg, four Aces or four 2s. Four Aces beat four Kings, and so on - pays 20-1. 4. A Full House: three of a kind plus two of a kind (a pair). If two players have a full house, the highest three of a kind wins - pays 7-1. 5. A Flush: five of the same suit. If there are two flushes, the highest card wins - pays 5-1. 6. A Straight: five cards in sequence but of different suits. With two Straights, the highest card wins - 4-1. 7. Three of a Kind - pays 3-1. 8. Two Pairs - pays 2-1. 9. A Pair - pays 1-1. 10. High Card: in the absence of the above combinations, the highest card wins - pays 1-1. |
